Arluno between Sacred Architecture, Palazzi and Landscapes

Arluno combines sacred architecture, palazzi, an industrial past and expansive landscapes. In the town and its surroundings, there are churches from different periods, historic buildings, the former cotton spinning mill, as well as woodland and parkland. The individual sites range from Rococo windows in an apse to a park extending across several municipalities.

Churches with Rococo Windows and Historic Uses

At the Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo, the apse windows are designed in the Rococo style. The Chiesa di Sant'Ambrogio dates from the 15th century and was later used as accommodation for plague sufferers.

Palazzo Pozzobonelli, Villa Bolognini and Cascina Poglianasca

Palazzo Pozzobonelli Porro Lambertenghi Dell'Acqua was built by the Pozzobonelli family at the beginning of the 18th century. During Silvio Pellico's stay in Arluno in 1816, the palazzo was his residence. The building also has a lookout tower that was formerly used as a dovecote.

Villa Bolognini was built between 1689 and 1714 by Marquis Giuseppe Bolognini. At Cascina Poglianasca, a new, larger church dedicated to Saints Gervaso and Protaso replaced an older chapel in 1825.
