Cormano between culture and open play spaces
Cormano combines cultural sites with public parks and a variety of activities for families. A special highlight is Bì – La Fabbrica del Gioco e delle Arti, a theatre run by the Associazione Aia Taumastica. Alongside the parks, this provides a specific venue for the performing arts as a focal point of the visit.
For families, the Area giochi Cormano is one of the notable destinations. It includes a play castle, various play structures, swings, a wooden train, spring-mounted motorcycles and aeroplanes, as well as a football goal for children. The Area giochi is free to use and open at all times. It is the only part of Parco Nord Milano that belongs to the municipality of Cormano and is located south of Villa Manzoni.
Villa Manzoni and public parks
The Villa Manzoni is a private residence occupied by the writer's heirs. The interior cannot be visited. The surroundings of the villa therefore bring together a historically significant place and the freely accessible play facilities of the Area giochi, without the residence itself being a public sightseeing destination to include in your plans.
Further green spaces complement the picture of Cormano. The Parco dell'Acqua is a public park with a fountain as well as play and leisure facilities. The Parco Don Alessandro Manzoni also offers play and leisure facilities and additionally has meeting points. These places can therefore be combined in your daily itinerary according to different focuses: playing, spending time outdoors and relaxing together.
Art and cultural highlights
Balossa also brings art into the public space. At its three entrances are the “Idranti Ionici” by Francesco Garbelli. Inside Balossa, there are also two works from the “Fake History” series by the young artist Francesco Fossati.
The Ottobre Manzoniano programme at Teatro Bì included theatre performances, conferences, readings and presentations. It was supplemented by two renowned events such as the “Festival della Filosofia”. Together with the artworks of Balossa and Villa Manzoni, this creates a cultural theme that extends beyond visits to parks alone.
