The Sentiero Valtellina, the connections to Teglio and the surrounding vineyards offer different starting points for planning an itinerary tailored to your interests. Bike rides starting and ending in Tresenda

The Sentiero Valtellina cycle and walking path can be accessed in Tresenda via the bridge over the Adda River and followed or cycled in either direction. The Salita da Tresenda a Teglio cycling route begins in Tresenda and reaches Teglio in about an hour. This approximate time indication helps you classify the route as a manageable bike ride.

The Tour delle Frazioni connects the valley floor with Teglio and returns to Tresenda via quiet side roads. Part of the tour runs along the Sentiero Valtellina beside the Adda River. The final section of CamminaForeste Stage 18 reaches Tresenda through chestnut woods after a steep and challenging descent. On this stage, you may observe chamois, deer and roe deer; wolf tracks may also be present. The Val Caronella lies near Tresenda within the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi. It has hiking trails suitable for everyone, as well as surprising views over the middle Valtellina.

The Ca' Branchi–Somasassa–Caven–Tresenda walking route includes a descending section with views over Tresenda. It passes through terraced vineyards where Valgella, a Valtellina Superiore DOCG, is produced. For climbing enthusiasts, a rock face in the surroundings of Tresenda offers 25 equipped climbing routes for different climbing styles.

Churches, the Renaissance and regional history

Tresenda is home to the parish church of San Michele, built between 1925 and 1932. Its main altar includes a painted and gilded wooden altarpiece from the 17th century, as well as a painting of the Archangel Michael, which is more probably attributed to Gian Giacomo Barbello.

In nearby Teglio, Palazzo Besta is a Renaissance palace. Its interiors are decorated with fresco cycles on biblical, mythological and historical themes from the 16th century. The ground floor of Palazzo Besta also houses the Antiquarium Tellinum, a collection of prehistoric incised stelae from the Copper Age, the 3rd millennium BC.

Pizzoccheri and winemaking

Restaurants affiliated with the Accademia del Pizzocchero di Teglio serve Pizzoccheri according to the certified original recipe. Winemaking can also be traced in concrete terms: La Perla di Marco Triacca grows Nebbiolo and Pignola valtellinese in a single contiguous vineyard covering 3.5 hectares at an altitude of approximately 400 metres.
