Monte Cerignone between the fortress, church art and the Conca Valley

Monte Cerignone lies at the beginning of the upper Conca Valley, on a rocky spur at the foot of Monte Faggiola. The town combines a small riverside borgo with a fortress rising on a tuff ridge. This makes it a destination where landscape, medieval character and art can be experienced in close proximity.

Along the path beside the Conca riverbed, almost untouched, characteristic flora and fauna have been preserved. One trail follows the Conca River through Monte Cerignone and continues via Ca' Mazzolo and San Donato to the Santuario del Beato Domenico. Another trail begins in Monte Cerignone's main square and leads through a holm oak forest to Villagrande di Montecopiolo. Historic sites and art

Mons Cerignonis is a historical re-enactment featuring a parade and the Palio dell’uovo, set in a medieval village in Montefeltro in the 13th century. Mons Cerignonis includes open medieval cellars, a 13th-century market, craft workshops and demonstrations of traditional and historical crafts. The Rocca of Monte Cerignone was built in the 12th century by the first counts of Montefeltro and was partially rebuilt at the end of the 15th century by Francesco di Giorgio Martini.

Sacred art includes several noteworthy sites. The Church of Santa Caterina was built by the Knights of Malta. Santa Maria del Soccorso houses an enthroned Madonna and two paintings attributed to Bartolomeo Vivarini. San Biagio preserves an Ecce Homo attributed to Bartolomeo Vivarini.
