Frontone lies at the foot of the Monte Catria massif; its main peak reaches 1,701 meters. The town thus combines a mountain setting with cultural traces and regional cuisine. The area around Frontone is suitable for hiking, mountain biking and snowshoeing. The Festa della Crescia e dello Spignolo takes place in Frontone’s town center every year at the end of May. The Palio del Conte di Frontone is a historical reenactment. In the Palio, Frontone’s four contrade compete against one another. They are named Teodoro, Antonio, Barbara and Madonna del Buonconsiglio, and compete in contests of skill and dexterity.
