Below the tower of the former manor house is a restored well that is more than 25 metres deep, retains its water-lifting mechanism and can be visited with the aid of a spotlight.

Another trace of history leads to the Crutin ed Bastian. The cave, dug into tuff, was once used to store perishable food and conceal partisan weapons during the Resistance. The site thus connects everyday history with a tangible testimony from the period of the Resistance.

Trails for Different Hiking Days

The Pavesian Way connects the historic centres of Santo Stefano Belbo and Cossano Belbo on its first stage. It descends towards Cossano Belbo via the Scala Santa and Santa Libera. The Scala Santa trail connects the chapels of Santa Libera and San Bovo and comprises more than 170 steps set into the rock.

For longer circular routes, there are the approximately 11-kilometre Sentiero Masino and the approximately 19-kilometre Sentiero Belvedere. The Sentiero Masino connects Cossano Belbo with the hamlets of Scorrone and Trassino. The Sentiero Belvedere runs from the centre of Cossano through San Pietro and Madonna della Rovere to San Donato di Mango. The different trail lengths make it easier to plan according to your preferred duration and focus.

Wine, Festivals and Local Culture

The Enomuseo TOSO houses a collection of historical objects and equipment from the winery's past. The Sagra degli In combines gastronomic and wine-related offerings from the Langhe with historical re-enactments, contributions on the sustainability of organic products and an area dedicated to food culture. It takes place on the third weekend of May. The patron saint's festival of Cossano Belbo takes place every year during the third week of July, adding another regular highlight to the annual calendar.
