Trezzo Tinella: Springs, Vineyards and History

Trezzo Tinella lies at the springs of the Tinella stream and on the border between the Langhe and Monferrato. The Springs Trail and Panorama at Boscasso

The Sentiero delle sorgenti del Tinella is a circular trail approximately 9 km long. It reaches the source of the Tinella stream and then follows a scenic ridge back to Trezzo. The route therefore connects the spring area with an elevated section and a return to the village—a clear choice if you would like to combine a hike with different landscape impressions.

There is a parking area at Boscasso providing access to the 360-degree panoramic viewpoint at Bric Boscasso. The stage point of the Strada Romantica delle Langhe e del Roero at Bric Boscasso lies on the watershed between the Cherasca and Belbo valleys and is surrounded by vineyards. On the Strada Romantica

The stage of the Strada Romantica delle Langhe e del Roero near Trezzo Tinella begins and ends at the parish church of Sant’Antonio Abate. As a cycling route, it is moderately difficult and covers approximately 16 km on asphalt and gravel. The different lengths of the circular trail and the cycling route help you organise your excursions according to your preferred duration and means of transport, without confusing the two options.

Architecture and Roman History

In Roman times, Trezzo was a transport hub on the Via Magistra Langarum. This road connected Alba with Cortemilia and the towns on the Riviera. This historic connection explains Trezzo’s place within the region’s history of routes, without reducing today’s village to a single era.

The parish church of Sant’Antonio Abate is a Piedmontese neoclassical building with a barrel vault. Its location at the beginning and end of the Trezzo stage of the Strada Romantica connects a specific building with a regional route. Memorial Sites of the Langhe

The Donna di Langa monument in Piansarìn was erected to honour the women of the Langhe and their role in the history of the local communities. At Cascina Langa, hundreds of partisans found reliable shelter and a place to rest. Fenoglio mentions Cascina Langa in his writings; he lived there in exile in the winter of 1944/45. Both places lead from the landscape to the experiences and memories of the people connected with the history of the Langhe.
