Art and History in Gozzano

The Basilica di San Giuliano was built in the 18th century to a design by Pellegrino Tibaldi. It contains two large paintings by Giovan Battista Ronchelli depicting scenes from the life of San Giuliano; the Chapel of Madonna del Rosario contains frescoes by Lorenzo Peracino. This makes it possible to explore the basilica through both architecture and art.

The Church of San Lorenzo was the first parish church in Gozzano and is documented in a record from 1141. Lombard graves discovered in its apse in the 1990s are visible beneath a glass floor.
