Vicolungo between castles, churches and rice fields

The castello also retains pointed-arch windows and imposing machicolations. The fortified complex I Palazzi dates from the Middle Ages and was built on the edge of the ancient Biandrina road. The ancient Biandrina road provides the spatial reference for the I Palazzi complex.

The religious buildings in Vicolungo include the Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Parrocchiale di San Giorgio. The Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie was founded in 1591 by Enrico Gritta, the feudal lord of Vicolungo. The structure belonging to this church dates from the 15th century and has a single nave, a vaulted ceiling and a semicircular apse. A single-nave church has a single main space; a semicircular apse closes the structure on one side. The Parrocchiale di San Giorgio contains a panel depicting the Virgin and the saints. It is attributed to Bernardino Lanino and was created around 1580.

A historic site south of the village

South of Vicolungo, the Oratorio di San Martino is located near the cemetery. The settlement of San Martino di Zuxiana once stood at this site. Its location south of the village spatially distinguishes the oratorio from the buildings on the piazza.
