Torre between panoramic trails and culture

A circular trail begins in Reg. Torre, passes through S. Defendente, Reg. Fagnour and Val Pallera, and leads to the Cappella di Santa Lucia del Fagnour.

Trails and panoramic views

Itinerario n. 150 runs along a ridge with panoramic views of the Po plain beyond the Po, the Canavese and the Alps, including Cervino and Monte Rosa. For your trip planning, this trail combines elevation and distant views in a single landscape experience.

Itinerario 156 passes through forests and cultivated areas on the slopes of Bric Ruffino. After the turn-off to Valle Lucco near Marentino, it crosses to the other side of the hill and continues along the slope of Bric Bianco. Along this route, you will encounter different types of landscape between forest, cultivated areas and slopes.

Itinerario n. 157 leads to I Sabbioni (Sabion): a sediment wall rich in fossil molluscs and corals. This geological feature adds to the diversity of the trail network's landscapes.

The summit of Colle di Fagnour lies at an elevation of 480 m, not far from the village in the direction of Bardassano. From there, it offers a 360° panorama of Monte Rosa, Cervino, Gran Paradiso, Rocciamelone, Monviso, the Ligurian Alps and the first part of the Apennines. For you, the combination of an elevation of 480 m and an expansive panoramic view is particularly relevant here.

Historic sites in Sciolze

Sciolze is dominated by Castello di San Severino, a medieval fortress of which only a few sections of the walls remain. The site therefore represents a history that can today be read through limited surviving structures.

The parish church of San Giovanni Battista in Sciolze has a main altar made of Gassino stone, four wooden sculptures from the 18th century and an altarpiece by E. Gamba depicting the Baptism of Jesus. Its furnishings combine material, sculpture and religious painting.

The Chiesa della Confraternita dello Spirito Santo in Sciolze was built between the late 17th and early 18th centuries. It is not open to the public, so it can only be included in your plans as a historical reference point.

Chapel and regional trail connection

The chapel dedicated to Saint Lucia on Colle del Fagnour dates back to the 11th century. The Cappella di Santa Lucia del Fagnour was the first church built in the area of Sciolze and was formerly known as Santa Maria del Fagnour.

The Cappella di Santa Lucia is opened on 15 August, 4 November and during some services in May. These few specific dates differ significantly from an attraction that is accessible at any time and are essential for planning your schedule.

The Superga-Crea trail passes through Bardassano, Sciolze and Cinzano, runs through forests and vineyards, and passes castles on its way to the Abbey of Vezzolano. The landscape and cultural connection thus extends beyond individual trails and places.

The Sagra della Zucca di Sciolze is scheduled for the first Sunday in October and adds a seasonal occasion to the historical and landscape themes.
