Masera between Churches and Mountain Trails

Masera combines historic religious buildings, trails and a landscape that can be explored on foot as well as along a panoramic railway.

San Martino and the Oratories

The parish church of San Martino was built in 1883 on the site of an earlier Romanesque church. Inside, there is a 19th-century organ. In San Martino, culture enthusiasts can also note the 19th-century organ as a detail in its own right, in addition to the construction date of 1883.

The old Oratorio di Sant’Abbondio stands at the entrance to Masera from Valle Vigezzo, on a rocky precipice. The two oratories are located at different topographical reference points: Sant’Abbondio at the entrance from Valle Vigezzo, and San Giovanni Battista on the mountain above Masera.

The Centovalli–Vigezzo Railway runs through Masera and offers departures and intermediate stops there. It is a panoramic railway geared towards tourism.
