The Baroque building dates from the second half of the 17th century and houses the most important art collection on Lake Maggiore. The sculpture collection comprises more than 300 works, predominantly plaster pieces, by Paolo Troubetzkoy, as well as 53 works by Arturo Martini. The Museo Storico Artistico del Verbano e delle Valli adiacenti was founded in Pallanza in 1909 by Antonio Massara and the intermunicipal association “Pro Verbano”.
