Pollino: Trails and Panoramic Views

Several trails meet in Pollino. From Pollino, further trails lead to the Cappella di San Giuseppe and the Belvedere di Pollino. The Volon-Trail Premeno is a 13.5-kilometre circular route with 645 metres of positive elevation gain. Pollino is the last district reached by the trail; a second refreshment station is set up there. For planning this route, the distance and positive elevation gain are important. Anyone planning only a short section of the trail will have a different timeframe with the 20 minutes to the Cappella di San Giuseppe or the Belvedere di Pollino than on the circular route.

Hiking with Different Stages

A mountain trail from Pollino reaches the small Cappella di San Giuseppe in 20 minutes. From there, the trail continues to the Lucra alp and to Manegra; Manegra is reached in one hour. The 20 minutes to the chapel and the hour to Manegra mark stages of different lengths.

The trail from Pollino to the Cappella di San Giuseppe offers views over the central Lago Maggiore and the Lombard shore. A meadow trail from Pollino reaches the Belvedere di Pollino in 20 minutes. The Belvedere di Pollino overlooks Lago Maggiore. The chapel is reached via a mountain trail, while the Belvedere is reached via a meadow trail.

Trails from Premeno to Pollino

From Via Perelli Paradisi in Premeno, the Pianezza Grande trail leads to the Pollino district in 40 minutes. Near the cemetery, a trail branches off Via per Pollino and leads to Pollino via the Bagno alp in 20 minutes.

The two access routes differ both in their starting points and in the stated times: Pianezza Grande begins at Via Perelli Paradisi and leads to Pollino in 40 minutes, while the trail via Bagno branches off near the cemetery from Via per Pollino and takes 20 minutes.
