Nature between Lagoon and Coast
The Stagno di Sos Alinos lies behind Cala Liberotto. The wetland is lined with reeds and agaves and provides a habitat for resident and migratory birds. It therefore offers a specific connection with nature that differs from the open coastal landscape. Cala Liberotto is also located in the vicinity of Sos Alinos, an emerald-green bay with coarse-grained golden sand and pale rocks.
Another natural area near Sos Alinos is the Oasi di Biderosa. There, the number of admissions is limited to protect the environment; admission and services can be reserved online. From Sos Alinos, Cala Liberotto can be reached via the SS 125 towards Orosei and by following the signs near the beginning of the town.
Borgata, Church and Long-Standing Traditions
The Borgata Sos Alinos is a rural settlement with a clearly identifiable history of origin: its facilities were inaugurated in 1962. The settlement was established on the initiative of the Cassa di Mezzogiorno and financed with public funds. Since the early 1980s, the town has also had a tradition of building allegorical floats by the residents of the Borgata.

San Giovanni: Religion, Procession and Regional Cuisine
San Giovanni celebrations in Sos Alinos have also featured tastings of meat dishes. In 2014, a festival included locally produced suckling pig; for 2026, a tasting of roasted and braised lamb was planned.
As part of a San Giovanni celebration, the saint was taken on an ox cart to the central beach of Cala Liberotto after the religious ceremony. Local folklore groups accompanied the procession in traditional dress.
