The Usinavà nature oasis is a protected refuge for wildlife. It also offers a particularly suitable viewpoint for observing a mouflon colony. Depending on the focus of your trip, you can therefore consider Torpè a destination for peaceful landscape impressions, wildlife observation or outdoor activities.

Panoramas and walking at Monte Nurres

The Torpè–Monte Nurres route offers a 360° panorama of Monte Tepilora, Usinavà, the valley of the Rio Posada, the plain of Siniscola and the sea. For your planning, the exact nature of the trail is important: On the final section of the route, from the Su Balladògliu square to the summit, which is equipped for wildlife observation, walking is the only option.

Historic sites and distinctive buildings

Torpè itself also offers several distinct themes for a stay. In the districts of Sos Rios and Concas, old buildings constructed from stone and clay have been preserved. The Church of Madonna degli Angeli is one of the attractions in Torpè.

The Nuraghe San Pietro has a four-lobed layout and features a central keep as well as towers. At the Predas Ruias site, the Domus de Janas add historic sites to the Torpè area. These places and architectural forms create different points of emphasis: While the historic centre and the old buildings show the character of the settlement, the nuraghe and Domus de Janas draw attention to distinctive sites in the area.

Museum, visitor centre and local traditions

The Museo Civico di Torpè covers the history, culture, traditions, customs and ways of life of Torpè and its surrounding area from its origins to the present day. It therefore provides a thematic approach if you want to understand the landscape and the visible sites not in isolation, but in the context of the area’s development. Casa del Parco, home of CEAS Torpè Porta del Parco, has been designated as a visitor centre since 2015 by a municipal council resolution.

A fixed date in the annual calendar is 16 January: On this day, Torpè celebrates the feast in honour of Saint Anthony with bonfires, a religious ceremony, tastings of sweet treats and wine, music and dancing. The local food and drink culture also includes the offerings of Azienda Agricola Mannu. Guided farm tours, tastings and workshops are available there.

When choosing a hotel or other accommodation in Torpè, you can therefore first determine your personal priorities. For nature enthusiasts, Usinavà, mouflon observation and the Sa Dea pine forest are the main attractions. Those who prefer trails and panoramas should take the route to Monte Nurres into consideration, including its final section, which can only be completed on foot. Culture enthusiasts will find a range of themes in the historic centre, at the Museo Civico and at Madonna degli Angeli.

You can also plan the timing of your stay according to your own interests. The Feast of Saint Anthony on 16 January provides a fixed cultural date, while the museum, townscape, landscape and various buildings shape the stay thematically regardless of this festival.
