Monte Petrosu offers various points of interest for planning your trip: Cala Ginepro Beach is located in the village of Monte Petrosu on the coast of San Teodoro. The Chiesa di Sant’Andrea Apostolo is situated within the village; the church has a classical style and is also dedicated to the Madonna del Santo Rosario. When choosing your accommodation, you can therefore weigh up the coast, nature and local events.

Beaches and Shaped Coastline

The coastal landscape is not limited to a single beach. Cala Girgolu, Spiaggia di Porto Taverna, Spiaggia di Punta Molara and Spiaggia di Salina Manna are beaches in the vicinity of Monte Petrosu. This gives you several coastal destinations to choose from when planning your individual days, without suggesting that they should be grouped into a single beach area.

Spiaggia delle Vacche presents a distinctive landscape: the beach section is 30 metres long and has fine, cream-coloured sand, rocky outcrops and crystal-clear water. Its manageable length and striking natural features make the description of this stretch of coast particularly specific.

At Cala Girgolu, the rock known as Tartaruga was shaped by the forces of wind and waves acting over thousands of years. Cala Girgolu also has a shallow, sandy seabed and is suitable for peaceful swimming, including for children.

Churches, Festivals and Museums

A vigil Mass is celebrated at the Chiesa di Sant’Andrea Apostolo on Saturday evening. The Festa di Sant’Andrea usually takes place on the first Sunday in June. A Festa campestre in Monte Petrosu is also associated with the Chiesa di Sant’Andrea Apostolo. The church and festivals therefore provide specific cultural points of reference for engaging with the town, without implying a year-round programme of events.

There are further cultural destinations in the area around Monte Petrosu. The Museo delle civiltà del mare - ICIMAR is a museum in the vicinity of Monte Petrosu. Holy Well Sa Testa and Su Monte de S’Ape are ancient sites in the vicinity of Monte Petrosu. The Museo del mare Olbia is a museum in the wider regional area around Monte Petrosu. Taken together, the range extends from maritime culture to ancient sites and is therefore suited to different interests in regional history.
