Church Art and Historic Spaces

The Chiesa Madre dedicated to Sant'Andrea Apostolo was founded in 1340. Inside, there is a polychrome wooden crucifix, historic furnishings, as well as statues of Saint Andrew, the Immaculate Conception and Saint Joseph dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The church therefore offers a tangible way to explore the religious and artistic traces that shape Milo.

The restored Mulino del Milo also tells of another aspect of the town. The complex comprises two floors: the actual mill room and the former waterwheel chamber.

Winegrowing as Part of the Local Identity

By arrangement, visits and wine tastings can be organised at I Vigneri. The Palmento Caselle di Milo winery also produces various types of wine, including white, red and rosé wines. Its vineyards cover 9 hectares. Those interested in regional products can therefore experience both winegrowing in Milo and the opportunity to discover wine as part of an arranged visit.

Landscape between Oak, Sea and Coast

A distinctive natural feature is the Ilice di contrada "Carrinu" in the Milo area. The large holm oak (Quercus ilex) has a trunk circumference of about 10 metres at its base and is over 20 metres tall. The approximate measurements preserve the character of this exceptional tree without suggesting greater precision.

From the terrace of Piazza Belvedere Giovanni D'Aragona, the view extends across the Ionian Sea and the Calabrian coast. In summer and winter, the piazza hosts Milo's most important tourist and cultural events. Views and the events calendar come together here in one place, making the square relevant to different travel interests.

The Villa Manganelli Museum is located in the immediate vicinity of Milo. The surrounding area also contains Palazzo Corvaja, the Palazzetto Bonaventura monument and Palazzo Musmeci. These destinations complement the local themes of churches, mills and winegrowing with further cultural points of interest, without requiring any particular order.

The coastal landscape is also part of the wider orientation: Spiaggia Sant'Anna beach is located near Milo, as are Spiaggia Praiola and Spiaggia Fondachelo beaches.
