Rodenegg Castle and ecclesiastical history

Rodenegg Castle is open for guided tours from 1 May to 30 September 2026. Tours take place daily except Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; advance registration is not required. The two times structure the possible visiting day during the opening period of Rodenegg Castle.

In the Parish Church of the Assumption of Mary in Rodeneck, the gravestones of various Wolkenstein family members, the Lords of Line from the 14th century, and Caspar von Gufidaun, the administrator who died in 1458, commemorate the history and the connection with Rodenegg Castle.

Creation Trail and Forest Adventure Trail

The Creation Trail can be reached from Rodeneck. Over 6.4 kilometres, it illustrates the biblical story of creation at eight stations and through art installations; the trail ends at the chapel at Pianer Kreuz. Its length can be planned as a continuous trail section to this destination.

The Forest Adventure Trail in Rodeneck is a family-friendly circular route. It starts at the Ahner bus stop and takes about 40 minutes. For planning a day in Rodeneck, the Forest Adventure Trail can be factored in as an independent period of about 40 minutes.

The Rodeneck-Lüsen Alpine Pasture in the Isarco Valley

In summer, the hiking trails on the alpine pasture are suitable for everyone, including families with small children. For a summer day, the alpine pasture combines the hiking trails with its high-altitude setting.
