Pellizzano: Culture, Lago dei Caprioli and Trails in Val di Sole
Accommodation in Pellizzano
Culture and Local Stories
The Museo Diffuso Pellizzano allows visitors to explore the area through multimedia content, which can be accessed by scanning QR codes at various points of interest. The Chiesa di S. Maria in Pellizzano adds an architectural highlight, combining Gothic, Romanesque and Renaissance motifs. The Natività di Maria is celebrated every year at the beginning of September. On this occasion, a procession carrying the statue of the Madonna delle Grazie passes through the town's streets.
Lago dei Caprioli and Malga Fazzon
Lago dei Caprioli is an artificial lake at an altitude of 1,280 metres, located 5 kilometres above Pellizzano. A wide path with viewpoints leads around the lake. A short detour through the forest takes you to the Cascata del rio Baselga. There are picnic facilities on the meadows around Lago dei Caprioli. In the adjacent forest, there are observation points for roe deer and red deer, which are kept in the nearby protected area at Malga Bassa.
The Centro Visita Malga Fazzon is located within Malga Bassa, approximately 500 metres from Lago dei Caprioli. It offers interactive multimedia content and nature documentaries created in collaboration with MUSE in Trento.
Trails with Different Characteristics
The route from Pellizzano to Lago dei Caprioli begins in Pellizzano and climbs uphill along the Sentiero degli Gnomi. The trail owes its name to the sculptures made of wood, stone and other natural materials that can be seen along the way. This route is not suitable for prams or pushchairs. Malga Alta di Fazzon is part of the Via delle Malghe della Val di Sole and adds to the selection of trails and rural destinations around Pellizzano.
Cycling and Family Activities
The Val di Sole cycle route passes through Pellizzano and forms part of an easy 43.5-kilometre route. Another cycling and walking route in Val di Sole follows the Noce River and, thanks to its minimal elevation gain, is suitable for families and children. In the town's sports area, the Kids Bike Park Pellizzano is just a few steps from Bici Grill, along the Val di Sole cycle route. Bici Grill itself is also located in Pellizzano along the cycle route.
Crafts and Further Experiences
During the Profumo di lana experience, participants can work wool by hand and create an authentic souvenir. The experience also includes a visit to a traditional knitting workshop, where the main processing techniques are presented. Another destination is the Centro Equitazione Alpina Val di Sole. It is located in Pellizzano, in the Pressenago district, along the cycle route.
