Lakes and water in Bedollo

Bedollo offers several distinctly different experiences. Lago delle Piazze is located in the municipality of Bedollo; its waters are used for water sports, while the meadows are suitable for sunbathing. Laghetto delle Buse is ideal for excursions and picnics and is equipped with tables and benches. If, when planning your trip, you would like to choose between activities on the lake and an uncomplicated break outdoors, the two bodies of water offer different options for your stay.

Hikes to Cascata del Lupo

Passo del Redebus is the starting point for several hiking trails. One specific route leads from Piazze di Bedollo to Cascata del Lupo and takes about 30 minutes. The waterfall is 36 metres high and can also be reached by car. It is recommended to park shortly before the start of the Strada Forestale delle Strente. For planning your day, Cascata del Lupo can therefore be reached either via a short hike or by driving there and then continuing on foot; the two options should not be confused.

Tour 867 and trails between the lakes

Tour 867 passes through the villages of Bedollo and the natural areas surrounding them. Its first section around Lago delle Piazze is suitable for everyone, including families with children. Tour 867 can also be shortened to the first circular trail, namely an easy loop around Lago delle Piazze. Laghetto delle Buse can be reached via a cycle and pedestrian path that connects the three lakes of the Altopiano di Piné. This gives you the choice of a short loop, a longer route or a path that combines time by the lake with physical activity, depending on the distance you prefer.

Wetlands and the Kneipp path at Redebus

The natural surroundings of Acqua Fredda are part of the Redebus protected area, a wetland of considerable ecological value with numerous plant species. Beside Lago delle Buse, the Kneipp path at Redebus follows a circular route through pools of flowing water from the Brusago stream, approximately 30 centimetres deep. The exact water depth remains an approximate indication; what matters is the facility described, with its water pools and circular route.

Church and prehistoric smelting furnaces

The Church of Bedollo, dedicated to Saint Oswald the King, is one of Bedollo's historically and culturally significant sites. On 29 November 1680, it was elevated from a chapel to a curacy of the parish of Piné, and on 5 May 1919 to a parish church. In Acqua Fredda, one of the most important prehistoric smelting sites in the entire Alpine region can be seen; nine smelting furnaces were discovered at the archaeological site. The Area Archeologica Acqua Fredda is temporarily closed due to a disruption and is not accessible to visitors until further notice.
