Terzolas in Val di Sole: Culture, Trails and Landscape

Terzolas between the Noce and Cima Lac

Terzolas lies on the orographically left bank of the Noce River, in the lower Val di Sole, on a broad, gently sloping terrace at the foot of Cima Lac (2,439 metres). Terzolas enjoys a sunny position and is surrounded by apple orchards. The river, terrace and mountain peak give the village different landscape reference points.

Rafting is possible in Val di Sole from May to September.

Palazzo Malanotti and Alla Torraccia

The Palazzo della “Torraccia” (Casa Malanotti) was built by Francesco Enigler between 1573 and 1579. The hall on the second floor of Palazzo Malanotti (Torraccia) is decorated with a 17th-century fresco frieze displaying the coats of arms of the Malanotti family.

The moderately difficult trail to Malghetto di Terzolas passes through characteristic farmsteads and deciduous forests, offering views over the lower Val di Sole. The route thus combines farmsteads, woodland landscapes, valley views and animal observation in a clearly defined hiking experience.

The Sentiero Val di Sole is an easy hike for discovering historic sites in Val di Sole. A branch of the Sentiero Val di Sole leads to the “Sassias” climbing wall in San Giacomo. Above San Giacomo, a branch of the Sentiero Val di Sole leads to the “sassi coppellati”, rocks with hemispherical depressions. Along this trail, the thematic range therefore includes both historic sites and unusual rock formations, as well as a destination for climbing enthusiasts.
