The ancient Podesteria near the Castello dei Conti Ubertini was established at the beginning of the 15th century and preserves a valuable 17th-century fresco of the Annunciation. The Fiera del Tordo has taken place in Chitignano since the early 19th century, on a Sunday in October. The town features food and craft stalls, as well as cultural events and social gatherings. The springs of Chitignano provide another historical connection: in the Middle Ages, they were valued by pilgrims traveling toward Rome along the Via Romea Germanica. The Sorgente Buca del Tesoro is one of three springs near Chitignano. At the Sorgente, the municipality has created an equipped green area; there are two separate springs there, with two different types of water. Cycling route and practical information

A cycling route from Bibbiena railway station leads to the Santuario de La Verna and then on to Chitignano. This gives you a clearly described option if you want to combine a trip with a cultural or spiritual destination. For visits to the Ecomuseo, the following applies: in July and August, it is open on public holidays and the days before them from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. This allows you to coordinate cultural highlights, a cycling stage and the timing of your stay.
