The Lapide di Pulicciano commemorates the killing of the 29-year-old parish priest Don Bianco Cotoneschi on 1 August 1944. This historical focus is complemented by the Festa del Perdono, a recurring local festival in Pulicciano.

Memorial Trails and Paths in the Village

The Sentiero della Memoria reaches Pulicciano and runs below the slopes of Pratomagno. It commemorates those who fell in the resistance and passes a memorial stone commemorating the massacre of the 29-year-old parish priest and his sacristan; both had been taken hostage by German soldiers. The Via del Bacio is a footpath in Pulicciano. The routes range from the Via del Bacio footpath in Pulicciano to the Sentiero della Memoria below the Pratomagno slopes.

Landscape Between Vineyards and the Valdarno

The circular route from Pulicciano begins at the Church of Sant’Andrea and follows the markings for CAI trails no. 20 and 33. The CAI Trail 920 Pratomagno initially passes through farmland with vineyards and olive groves, then through deciduous woodland and, higher up, through scrubland and grassland. At several points, this trail offers views over the Valdarno. In the area around Pulicciano, CAI Trail 33 crosses the Romanesque bridge over the Faella stream on the section from La Lama to Villa di Pulicciano. The bridge was probably built in the 13th century and connects two valleys of Pratomagno.
