Principina a Mare lies on the northern border of the Parco della Maremma and within the Pineta Granducale di Grosseto. The coast of the Parco della Maremma stretches for 25 km from Principina a Mare to Talamone. As a result, two clearly recognisable landscapes meet here: the park's coast and the pine forest inland. The park's coast provides the connection to the sea, while the Pineta Granducale provides the connection to the wooded hinterland. Talamone forms the other endpoint of this stretch of coast.
