Strettura is about 13 km from Spoleto railway station; onward travel is possible by car, taxi or organised transfer. The area's earlier transport history also reaches far back: before the opening of the Rome–Ancona railway connection, Strettura had a station of the Papal Post, where the horses were changed.

A special connection with regional everyday life and food culture is Pane di Strettura. It is a traditional agro-food product of Umbria from the municipality of Spoleto. Pane di Strettura is also connected with the history and gastronomic culture of the village. The name therefore stands not only for a single product, but also refers to the connection between Strettura, its historical surroundings and Umbrian cuisine.

Church of Santa Maria Assunta and Castello di Palazzaccio

One of the cultural points of interest in Strettura is the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. It was probably built in the 17th century in place of an older parish church that had been buried by a flood of the nearby stream. Inside the church stands a 17th-century statue of Saint Anthony Abbot carved from oak. The Castello di Palazzaccio is also one of the historical traces in the surrounding area. Extensive remains of the circuit wall and several buildings have survived from the complex. The Castello was built on the ruins of a Roman watchtower that was used during the construction of the Via Flaminia.
