The Centro e Ville tour leads through the streets of Breganze, passing the church, the campanile, villas and dovecotes. The Collina Santo Stefano tour offers a different perspective: it leads to the Church of Santo Stefano through historic villas and atmospheric paths surrounded by greenery and vineyards.

The historic Opifici route runs from the town centre along the historic Via Castelletto to the Antica Officina Radin Museum. Along the way, it passes workshops, former production sites and villas. Another cycling route from Breganze via Mirabella and Maragnole follows small country roads and returns to Breganze along a new cycle path.

Churches and the Campanile

The parish church of Breganze was already dedicated to Santa Maria towards the end of the 13th century and housed the tomb of the Pagello family. Breganze Cathedral dates back to the 13th century and contains seven altars dedicated to saints as well as an altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The Church of San Valentino dates from 1646; its furnishings include frescoes by the Mattielli and a Baroque altar made of Vicenza stone. The Chiesetta di Santo Stefano has Benedictine origins and today displays formally Neo-Gothic features.

The campanile of Breganze is 90 metres high and offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape. Bell concerts take place at the campanile of Breganze on weekends, as well as on religious holidays and during major events.

Villas and Dovecotes

The manor villas of Breganze stand on hills and are surrounded by extensive parkland. Villa Monza-Savardo is a 17th-century villa with a manor chapel and a dovecote; it is surrounded by a centuries-old park with rows of old vines. Breganze’s numerous dovecotes were built only after the mid-15th century, during the Venetian period, and served as representative buildings for large landowning families.

Craft History in Museums and Workshops

The Antica Officina Radin is a museum of local craftsmanship. It preserves the characteristic layout of craft workshops that operated between the 1920s and the period after the Second World War; restored machinery and working equipment have also been preserved. The Maglio Tamiello is a rare witness to Vicenza’s proto-industrial development in the 16th century. The Museo del Maglio di Breganze preserves fully intact, operational machinery powered exclusively by water. Practical demonstrations show the forging of red-hot iron and the sharpening of tools on a water-powered grinding wheel.

Winemaking Tradition Between the Pedemontana and the Venetian Plain

The Breganze DOC designation was among the first DOC designations recognised in Veneto and honours both native and international grape varieties. Vespaiolo is regarded in the Pedemontana as the area’s symbolic grape variety. This aromatic white grape produces Torcolato, a passito wine made from grapes that are naturally dried until January.

Historic wineries such as Beato Bartolomeo, Col Dovigo and Firmino Miotti offer tastings among vineyards with panoramic views. The Strada del Torcolato connects wineries along a route through well-tended rows of vines, with views stretching from the Pre-Alps to the Venetian plain. Visiting the wineries in the Pedemontana makes it possible to follow the production process from the vineyard to the bottle.

In Maragnole, a district of Breganze, the 25th Sagra del pesce will take place from 17 July to 20 July 2026.
