The Chiesa di San Liberatore in the LocalitĂ San Giovanni del Monte was built in 1651 and preserves a valuable wooden statue of the saint. The Ponte Foeniculum is also known as Ponte Manfredi and is an ancient bridge of Roman origin over the Calore River.
Aglianico and Wine Tradition
Torrecuso lies entirely within the production zone of Aglianico del Taburno DOCG. Cantine Iannella in Torrecuso lists “Viaggio nell’Aglianico” among its “Esperienze” offerings.
For wine enthusiasts, Torrecuso offers the production zone, activities by Cantine Iannella and Fontanavecchia, and VinEstate. Fontanavecchia is located near the town district of the same name in the municipality of Torrecuso. There, ten trails lead through vineyards and the wine cellar; the offering includes tastings as well as explanations of the local grape varieties and winemaking.
VinEstate is a long-standing event in the historic center of Torrecuso at the foot of the Taburno, dedicated to wines, especially Aglianico. It usually takes place between the last week of August and the first week of September and includes cultural and specialist meetings on various topics.
Hiking and Cycling along the Calore
A hiking route to Monte Pentime begins at the Eremo di San Liberatore in the Torrecuso area, passes via the Eremo di San Menna and then continues to Monte Pentime. The Eremo di San Menna lies between the Eremo di San Liberatore and Monte Pentime.
The Benevento–Vitulano cycle and footpath runs through the greenery of the “Gran Dormiente” area and is bordered by the Calore River. At just under 8 km, the route provides a fixed distance for daily planning; the actual duration depends on the chosen means of travel. For planning the day, the choice between cycling and walking is therefore just as relevant as the distance of the path.
The museum in the “Torum Licusi – alla scoperta di Torrecuso” area comprises four routes: one main route and three secondary routes. They cover the most important squares and streets in the town center. The division does not establish a single itinerary, but distinguishes between one main route and three secondary routes.
