Pellezzano Between Its Historic Centre, Villas and Rural Landscapes
Pellezzano combines a historic townscape with a landscape shaped by olive groves and vineyards. In the historic centre, narrow lanes, stone houses and old churches such as the parish church of San Clemente define the appearance. Villas and churches add further distinctive buildings in the outlying districts to Pellezzano’s historic centre.

Villas with History, Summer Residences and Distinctive Character
From the second half of the 19th century, Villa Wenner was the residence of the Wenner family. Since 1984, it has been protected by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Environment.
The Villa Wenner complex includes the piano nobile and its associated gardens; they are used for receptions and ceremonies. Thus, alongside its former function as a residence, the site is also used today for festive and ceremonial occasions.
In the hamlet of Capriglia stands Villa Pastore, an elegant residence that served from the 18th century onwards as a summer retreat for landowners who lived elsewhere. Villa Pastore is a place of relaxation where celebrations, congresses, conferences and spiritual retreats are organised. Here, historic architecture and a variety of events together shape the character of the site.
Churches, a Panel Painting and Preserved Townscapes
The churches, too, reach far back into the history of the area. The Church of San Nicola di Bari e San Matteo in Cologna has been documented since 1309. The Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Capriglia is first documented in 1309.

Between the Hermitage, Natural Areas and Regional Cuisine
Another striking connection between history and landscape is the Eremo dello Spirito Santo. It is of great importance both historically and in terms of the landscape. The Parco Fluviale dell'Irno complements this aspect of Pellezzano with an extensive green area, tree-lined avenues, paths through the greenery and nature trails along small lakes. Sciusciello is also part of the local identity. This traditional local bread is baked in a classic wood-fired oven and refined with local delicacies. In Pellezzano, Sciusciello is both a traditional bread and the name of the Sagra do' Sciusciello.
