Rocca Sanvitale: 14th-Century Fortress and Art in the Saletta
The imposing Rocca Sanvitale fortress was built in the 14th century on an existing building dating from 1124. It therefore combines a medieval construction phase with a significantly older predecessor building.
The Saletta di Diana e Atteone in the Rocca Sanvitale was painted between 1523 and 1524 by Francesco Mazzola, known by the nickname Parmigianino.

The Chiesa di Santa Croce is a late Gothic parish church in Fontanellato dating from the period between the early 16th and early 17th centuries. The Santuario della Beata Vergine del Santo Rosario is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with an afternoon closure from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. During opening hours, several priests of the Dominican Order are available to visitors for confession. The lunch break divides the opening day into a morning period and a later afternoon and evening period.
Labirinto della Masone and Castello della Musica in the Surrounding Area
The Labirinto della Masone consists entirely of bamboo plants and includes approximately 300,000 plants of various species. It is open every day, including public holidays, except Tuesdays. The Labirinto della Masone museum is located in the immediate vicinity of Fontanellato. For weekly planning, Tuesday is the Labirinto's closing day; it remains open on public holidays.
The Castello della Musica castle is also located in the vicinity of Fontanellato.
