Aranova: Agro Romano, Local Products and Culture
Aranova combines the rural landscape of the Agro Romano with a farm, public meeting places, and cultural traces. The local scene includes the Biolà farm, the new Piazza of Aranova, the Palestra Scuola Secondaria Aranova, and a paved section of the Via Aurelia. The area around Ara Nova also contains an ancient site, while a museum is located in the wider regional area.
Agro Romano and the Biolà Farm
The Biolà farm in Aranova is located in the Agro Romano, an area where arable farming and livestock breeding have been practiced for centuries. The farm covers 200 hectares. At the Biolà farm, crossbred cattle are kept outdoors on pasture and used for meat production. In Aranova, the Biolà farm therefore combines 200 hectares with pasture-based livestock farming and meat production in the Agro Romano.
Tastings and Raw Milk Directly from the Farm
La Fattoria Biolà offers tasting experiences and guided tours of the farm. During these tours, the processing methods are explained. The tour focuses on the processing procedures, while the tasting directly presents the agricultural product itself. In addition, since 2005 Biolà has operated automatic raw-milk vending machines where consumers can buy freshly milked milk directly. The tour and the vending machines have different focuses: the tour covers processing, while the vending machines allow visitors to buy freshly milked raw milk directly.
Piazzas and Local Event Venues
The “Sere d’Estate 2026” program included two free evenings on 18 and 19 July 2026 at the new Piazza of Aranova. During these evenings, the piazza was opened to the public for the first time. The two evenings took place consecutively and formed a short time window in July 2026.
Sports activities also take place at a specific venue in Aranova: Supernova Fiumicino’s minibasket activities are held, among other places, at the Palestra Scuola Secondaria Aranova. The piazza is part of the summer program, while the gym is associated with Supernova Fiumicino’s minibasket activities.
Historical Traces Around Aranova
The paved section of the Via Aurelia near Aranova was lined with groups of rooms. The ancient site “Galassi Grave VIIth Cen. B. C” is also located in the area around Ara Nova. In the wider regional area around Ara Nova lies the Pinacoteca Vaticana, a museum. For those interested in culture, the geographical connection extends from the road section near Aranova, through the site in the surrounding area, to the museum in the wider regional area.
Church and Religious Life
The Nostra Signora di Fatima church was consecrated in 1995. The “Nostra Signora di Fatima” parish in Aranova hosts a meeting of the leaders of the diocese’s prayer groups at least once a year. The name Nostra Signora di Fatima is therefore associated with both the church and the parish in Aranova. Both the church and the parish are thus part of religious life in Aranova.
