Landscape on Monte Celeste

Olevano Romano lies on Monte Celeste, in the mountain complex formed by the Monti Prenestini, Monti Lepini and Monti Ernici. Art at Villa de Pisa

Since 1961, the Akademie der Künste in Berlin has once again awarded a grant for a stay in Olevano Romano.

Walks and trail routes

The municipal circular route recommends walking to the remains of Olevano Romano’s Cyclopean walls. It also recommends climbing the Baron’s Tower to enjoy views over the Alta Valle del Sacco. On the Cammino di San Tommaso, the route heads towards Olevano Romano by descending into the valley and then climbing up into the town along a steep, paved country road. The production area covers the territory of the municipality of Olevano Romano and part of the territory of the municipality of Genazzano. The Sagra del Cesanese in Olevano Romano reached its 50th edition in 2025; at the 50th Sagra del Vino Cesanese, a traditional parade of allegorical floats was organised on 31 August 2025. The festival of San Rocco is a religious and civic celebration for the residents of Olevano Romano, with volunteer helpers contributing to its success. The festivities include the distribution of blessed bread.
