Another historical focal point is the Chiesa di San Pietro. It was built in the 13th century on the remains of an old abbey and rebuilt in 1691 after a fire in the 17th century. The church preserves paintings from the 17th century as well as a wooden statue of the Madonna Immacolata, attributed to the school of Maragliano.

Museums in Savignone

In its archaeological department in the hamlet of San Bartolomeo, the Museo Storico Alta Valle Scrivia preserves pottery fragments, coins and other objects from local archaeological excavations. The pottery fragments point to the presence of the Romans in the area. The Museo degli Alpini pays particular attention to the alpine traditions of the Ligurian valleys and preserves photographs, uniforms, badges, memorabilia and postcards in three rooms.

Visits to the archaeological department of the Museo Storico Alta Valle Scrivia are scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m.; school classes may visit by arrangement, and advance notification by telephone is recommended. For the Museo degli Alpini, visits are scheduled in summer on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m., while in winter visits are available on request.

Canoeing courses and races are organized at the Campo Scuola Ponte di Savignone in the hamlet of Ponte di Savignone. An activity on the water thus complements the area's hiking trails, nature observation opportunities and historical sights.
