Brusaporto between History and Winegrowing

Brusaporto combines a long winegrowing tradition with visible evidence of its history. Wine has been cultivated here for centuries; the two winegrowing areas of Colleoni and Valcalepio produce red wines, white wines and high-quality sparkling wines. The town can therefore be explored through its culture, nature and local culinary heritage.

Park and Trails on Monte Tomenone

The Parco del Castello is a public green area of historical and landscape value. It is used for recreation as well as cultural and natural history activities and extends around the historic castle building. The Bagolaro del Castello di Brusaporto stands there; it is almost 25 metres tall and has a trunk circumference of 5 metres.

The Parco del Castello can be visited free of charge during its permitted opening hours. The lower area is also accessible to people with disabilities; the summit is difficult to reach because of steep paths and stairs. The cycling and pedestrian path from Brusaporto connects various areas of the municipality, is suitable for walking, running, cycling and outdoor leisure activities, and is free to access.

Churches, Towers and Castle Ruins

Medieval castle ruins are located at the entrance to Brusaporto. At the foot of the hill lies the Villa Belvedere complex, with a Romanesque crenellated tower that also served as a dovecote. The parish church of Santa Margherita was remodelled and rebuilt in 1729. It houses the painting Cristo portacroce by Nicolò Frangipane, dating from 1580.

The church dedicated to the Holy Family is Gothic and dates from the early years of the 20th century. The Romanesque Chiesetta di San Martino was recently restored and furnished with an impressive 15th-century fresco triptych. It is freely accessible during its opening hours and for religious celebrations.

Culture, Sport and Events

The Centro Culturale is a public multifunctional centre for culture, study, educational entertainment and artistic activities, and is open to all citizens. Brusaporto Retrocomputing reached its 18th edition in 2025 and was an exhibition for enthusiasts of computer history. For 2026, the municipality organised the fourth edition of Brusa Street Food.

The Brusaporto sports centre includes tennis courts, padel courts, football pitches, an athletics track and a throwing area. The facilities can be used by reservation, as part of organised courses, or by participating in events and activities.

Hikes and Natural History Experiences

For Brusaporto GreenWeek 2026, a natural history excursion on Monte Tomenone with Artemisia was scheduled for Saturday, 21 March 2026, at 9:30 a.m.; the starting point was to be the Centro Polivalente. One route to Monte Tomenone leads along a cycle path and then via Via Beder to the entrance of Cascina dei Frati, where an uphill path leads up the hill. In 2025, the Festa della Repubblica italiana in Brusaporto included a traditional public hike from the Centro Polivalente to the old rock castle of Monte Tomenone. The same hike was planned for 2026 but was cancelled due to bad weather.
