Lasnigo is an appealing destination if you would like to combine hiking with cultural history and regional discoveries on a trip to Italy. A hiking route, several peaks and cultural sites offer different focal points. A hotel in Lasnigo brings these themes together when planning your trip, along with the parking areas in the center, the churches along the route and the meeting point for the Monte Megna tour.

Churches and History Along the Route

The Church of San Giuseppe dei Morenti is located on the road from Lasnigo to Alpe di Megna. San Giuseppe dei Morenti, also known as Chiesa dei Morti di Valmorana, commemorates the victims of the plague of 1531. The church is dated to 1757. Another church is the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, now Lasnigo's parish church: the “Anello ai piedi del Monte Oriolo†hiking route passes it. This allows a visit to the church to be combined with the section of the route at Monte Oriolo.

Starting Point and Route to Conca di Crezzo

The recommended parking areas in the center of Lasnigo serve as the starting point for the hiking route. You can reach this area via the SP41 Vallassina, which connects Arosio with Bellagio. The C36 line also has a stop for the hiking route at Via Provinciale 4 in Lasnigo. In the vicinity of Lasnigo, the route reaches Conca di Crezzo after 800 m. There are several rest and picnic areas there, as well as a short path around the lake of the same name. For planning your day, the short path around the lake, together with the rest areas, forms a clearly defined section of the hike.

Peaks, Forests and a Guided Tour

The peaks of Monte Oriolo, Monte Colla and Cima del Costone are located in the immediate vicinity of Lasnigo. Mount Cornizzolo is located in the area around Lasnigo. A guided tour of Monte Megna leads through the forests to the hamlet of Dosseglio and onward to the mountain summit. The meeting point for this guided tour is at Via Giuseppe Vanini 4 in Lasnigo. At Alpe Megna, the tour also includes a visit to a farm with a tasting of locally produced artisan cheeses and cured meats. The tour thus combines a forest path, a hamlet, a summit and regional products in one itinerary.

Museums and Palaces in the Surrounding Area

The Museo Moto Guzzi is a museum in the area around Lasnigo. The wider regional surroundings of Lasnigo also include the Museo Etnografico Dell'Alta Brianza, a museum, as well as Palazzo Secchi and Palazzo Belgioioso; both are palaces. For a cultural section outside the hiking route, museums and historic buildings are therefore available in the surrounding region.

Other places to include in your travel plans are Monguzzo, Zelbio, Civenna, Castiglione Dʼintelvi, Castelmarte, Cantù, Carlazzo and Cerano D'intelvi.
