Baita: Hiking through forests, highlands and history

On the Sentiero 801B, the mule track passes through a beech forest and follows a winding route. The Sentiero 823 climbs through the forest to a ridge of Monte Tesoro. The Anello Colle di Sogno hiking route leads to Baita and from there climbs up a stone staircase to Colle di Sogno. Water is available along the route.

Historic sites around Baita

San Michele combines historical importance with a distinctive form of access: the historic complex can only be reached on foot via a mule track. Its origins date back to the 12th century.

The Castello Dell'Innominato castle is also located in the immediate vicinity of Baita. The Casa di Lucia Palace is in the area around Baita, as is the Palazzotto di Don Rodrigo Palace. These three buildings broaden the cultural perspective beyond San Michele: the castle and palaces stand as independent historic destinations alongside the complex.

In the context of Torre de' Busi, the Sentiero 821 follows a well-marked mule track. Along its route, it features the highest concentration of wayside shrines. The trail is therefore also of interest to visitors who want to experience wayside shrines as part of the route.
