Cisliano offers various ways to experience its landscapes, rural attractions and historic architecture. Between the wet woodland of Bosco di Riazzolo, a forest path shaped by literature, educational farms and old buildings, a multifaceted picture of the area emerges. The Bosco di Riazzolo represents water, woodland and wildlife, while the cascine embody agriculture, regional products and traces of history.

Woodland, Water and Literary Paths

The Bosco di Riazzolo covers approximately 65 hectares. The area is a wet woodland with numerous springs, waterways and wild animals. When observing nature, waterways, woodland and wild animals are the focus in the Bosco di Riazzolo. This combination of woodland, water and wildlife characterizes Cisliano’s natural environment. For walks with a special thematic focus, the Sentiero letterario virgiliano serves as a forest path. Along it, visitors can discover native plant species that appear in Virgil’s Bucolica from 42–39 BC.

Rural Experiences and Regional Products

Cascina Molinetto is an educational farm in Cisliano (MI) within the Parco Agricolo Sud. Cascina Roncaglia is a family-oriented place to visit: there, children can get to know farm animals on weekends and public holidays. The same cascina also houses the Agrispaccio, which offers products from the region, meaning products bearing the km 0 designation. These include flour, sauces and preserves. The two farms have different focuses: Molinetto represents agricultural education, while Roncaglia combines farm animals with regional goods. In this way, Cisliano’s rural side is connected not only with spending time outdoors but also with regional products.

Historic Churches and Cascine

The present-day structure of the Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Giovanni Battista dates from 1709. The church also houses a valuable painting by Camillo Procaccini. Cascina Manzola was originally an aristocratic hunting residence and preserves part of its decoration typical of the Visconti period. At Manzola, its former use as a hunting residence is evident alongside the surviving decoration. The terracotta embellishments on the pointed-arch windows of Cascina San Giacomo are still visible. Part of the cascina was designated as accommodation for travelers.

Other historical layers are represented by the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta in Bestazzo, which dates largely from the 17th century, and Cascina Scanna. Its buildings date from the 16th century; the foundation of the present complex dates back to the 4th century. Cisliano’s historic buildings thus range from a church dating from the early 18th century through the Visconti period to the ancient foundation of Cascina Scanna.
