Villa Cortese brings together religious, archaeological and social traces spanning many centuries. A Roman sarcophagus dating from the 1st century AD was found in Villa Cortese. It is now housed in the Museo Civico Sutermeister in Legnano and offers a tangible point of reference for anyone wishing to explore local history through a preserved object. In the 13th century, Villa Cortese had an altar dedicated to San Vittore Martire. In 1564, San Carlo Borromeo elevated the Church of San Vittore Martire to parish church status.

The foundation stone for the new parish church was laid on 14 April 1910; it was consecrated on 21 October 1922. The Contrada Maggiore, which corresponds to today's Via Franco Tosi, provides a historical link to the current structure of the town. At the other end of the Contrada Maggiore stood the Oratorio di San Fermo and the square of the same name. The Chiesa del Lazzaretto was consecrated in 1720 and dedicated to the Madonna del Rosario. It stood next to the mass grave of the plague victims and was demolished in 1960.

The Tessitura Meccanica Giovanni Crespi, founded in Villa Cortese in 1919, is also part of the area's economic and commemorative history. The war memorial of Villa Cortese was inaugurated on 20 October 1924 by the Associazione Combattenti e Reduci di Villa Cortese. The Monumento ai Caduti di tutte le guerre is a bronze sculpture of a heroically posing soldier wearing a helmet and ammunition pouches and holding an upright flag. In 1722, Villa Cortese had arable land and forests.

The official programme of the Fiera Autunnale 2026 includes “Passeggiando in fiera”, a walk of approximately 3 km starting at Piazza Vittorio Veneto. The programme also includes the third edition of “Emozioni in Giardino”, where seeds, cuttings and plants are exchanged for anyone interested.
