Churches and Historic Architecture

The baptistery of the Church of Saints Augustine, Monica and John the Baptist houses a mosaic created in 2015 by Father Marko Ivan Rupnik and the Centro Aletti in Rome. The mosaic depicts the descent into the underworld. For visitors interested in culture, this is a clear focus on sacred art and contemporary design in a church setting.

In the center of Casciago, the old parish church of San Giovanni Battista has Romanesque origins. The freestanding bell tower of the Church of Sant’Eusebio da Vercelli retains its original exposed Romanesque masonry. The church also houses a 17th-century wooden statue of Saint Eusebius of Vercelli in a glazed niche above the main altar.

The Torre medievale di Casciago is also known as the Torre di Rampegana and belongs to the architecture of medieval fortifications. A dating to the 14th century has not been established with certainty. Villa and Local Cultural Life

Villa Castelbarco Albani was built around the middle of the 18th century and is set in a large garden. It can host cultural, leisure and corporate events.

Community life also has a specific cultural connection. Since 2023, the Casciago municipal library has organized two reading groups. They meet on the first and third Monday of each month, except in August. The two groups complement the historic sites with a current form of community cultural life.

Spring and Route through the Landscape

The Fontanile della Valèta is a spring in a small valley near the Torrente Valle Luna and not far from Casciago. The water from the Fontanile continues to supply the recently restored old washhouse. Here, natural water sources and an old built heritage feature come together as part of the landscape.

The Casciago–Morosolo–Mustonate circular route leads to the Ponte del Diavolo karst gorge, which measures 20 meters. For walking and hiking enthusiasts, the route provides a concrete connection to a distinctive karst formation.
