In San Donato, the 1503 work “La disputa di S. Caterina D’Alessandria” by Bernardino da Zenale is housed in a niche that formerly served as a baptistery. The now-vanished Abbey of San Donato bordered Sesto Calende’s most important monument, which was built between the 9th and 10th centuries.
