Nature, Forest and Trails in Parco Pineta

In Parco Pineta di Appiano Gentile e Tradate, the forest is characterized by Scots pines and English oaks. Orchids and dog violets grow in the meadows. Within this natural area is the Sentiero dei quattro elementi FATA, a path approximately 1 km long in Parco Pineta at Via Ronchi 75 in Tradate. The Sentiero FATA includes four installations dedicated to the four elements: fire, water, earth and air. The Sistema Solare trail runs for 250 metres through the forest of Parco Pineta.

The Osservatorio astronomico complex includes the main dome, the educational observatory with permanently installed auxiliary telescopes, the Sentiero Natura, an orienteering facility, a sensory trail and the EcoPlanetario. This brings together astronomical, nature-related and activity-based themes, without requiring you to limit yourself to a single way of discovering the area.

The Sentiero 542: Binago/Tradate is a walkable trail classified as ranging from tourist to hiking difficulty. The stated walking time is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The 543 B: Appiano Gentile/Tradate variant is shorter: it is a walkable tourist trail with a stated walking time of 45 minutes. These different walking times give you a clear basis when weighing up a short walk against a longer route for your daily itinerary.

Museums, Sacred Art and Visible History

The Museo Fisogni della Stazione di Servizio is a private museum founded in 1966 by entrepreneur Guido Fisogni. The interior of the Santuario del Santo Crocifisso features frescoes by Morazzone and Pietro Cortellezzi, as well as a polychrome marble floor and gilded stucco work. Parts of the ancient walls of Palazzo Castello - Pusterla Melzi are visible on Via Barbara Melzi. In Tradate, you will therefore encounter different forms of culture: a private museum, artistically designed sacred spaces and architectural testimonies visible in the streetscape.
