The Cathedral and Historic Religious Buildings

Fermo Cathedral has a Romanesque-Gothic façade and predominantly Neoclassical interiors. The Cathedral also contains the foundations of the ancient early Christian basilica as well as an 18th-century crypt. The Chiesa San Filippo Neri still preserves exceptionally valuable decorative and pictorial furnishings.

The Library, Pinacoteca and the Globe from 1713

The Biblioteca Civica Romolo Spezioli looks back on three centuries of history. Its holdings include 3,000 manuscripts, 127 codices and 300,000 documents. The Sala del Mappamondo is a special point of reference within the cultural offering. It forms part of the Pinacoteca tour and preserves the oldest holdings of the library of Fermo. The wooden globe in this room was designed in 1713 by Amanzio Moroncelli.
