In the parish area of Case Bruciate, the ruins of the Pieve di San Lorenzo Martire have been preserved. The Pieve di San Lorenzo was documented in Vico Bulgarorum in 1027 and 1028. As an octagonal Christian religious building, it is considered the only surviving example of its kind in the area of the ancient Byzantine Pentapolis. The Church of San Germano also reflects several historical periods. Its origins probably date back to the 13th or 14th century. The Cippo a Liliano Cassiani monument stands in the courtyard of the former primary school in Case Bruciate. The partisan Liliano Cassiani was captured in the vicinity of Case Bruciate on 22 June 1944. He died at the age of 18 from severe injuries sustained while attempting to escape during a shootout. The monument and the story associated with it give the site an explicit connection to remembrance culture.
