The Sentiero Quattordio e le sue frazioni

The Sentiero Quattordio e le sue frazioni is a circular trail in the municipality of Quattordio. It begins in the main town and passes near the hamlets of Piepasso and Serra. Its route first crosses fields and then continues through a wooded area. The trail also passes near Castello di Lajone and its park, surrounded by centuries-old trees. The circular trail ends at the parish church of San Pietro. Historical Traces in the Town

The Ghiacciaia Olivazzi is entirely underground. It has a diameter of around five metres and a vertical extent of eight metres. Another historical landmark is Rocca Civalieri: in 1937, it was recognised as being of particular historical and artistic interest and placed under the protection of the responsible heritage authority. During its restoration, the original structural elements were preserved; at the same time, the Relais Rocca Civalieri was created.

Castello di Lajone and Its Centuries-Old Park

The first documented references to Castello di Lajone date back to 1624. Over time, the estate passed to noble families from Asti and Alessandria. They enhanced its aristocratic character and developed it from a cascina or aristocratic residence into a castle. Castello di Lajone is surrounded by a rich, centuries-old park with rare plants. These include a rose garden, oaks, sequoias and cedars of Lebanon. The history of the estate and the park's distinctive vegetation therefore form a separate focus within Quattordio's cultural and landscape attractions.
