San Fiorenzo and its murals

Churches, Castle and Memorial

The Parrocchiale di San Martino originated from a 12th-century chapel. Inside is a 15th-century fresco depicting Saint Martin on horseback. The church thus preserves both an early architectural foundation and a vivid example of religious painting.

The castle of Bastia Mondovì was destroyed in 1303. Some ruins have survived. This makes the castle site a visible testament to the town’s earlier history, without implying that a castle still exists today.

The Sacrario di San Bernardo is dedicated to those who fell in the 1° Gruppo Divisioni Alpine. The plaques along the access road bear the names of around 1,000 people who died in the struggle for liberation between September 1943 and April 1945. The site thus combines a tangible commemorative inscription with the memory of the events of that period.
