Hiking through a Varied Landscape

Pradleves reveals its character especially where trails, nature and local culture come together. The Curnis is a circular trail of more than 40 kilometres through the municipalities of Monterosso Grana and Pradleves. The Stazioni floristiche di Pradleves protect the only site of Linum narbonense in Piedmont. At the same time, they form a 13-hectare Site of Community Importance in the municipality of Pradleves.

Other natural highlights include Barma grande, a natural cave about 40 metres wide where stalactites and stalagmites can still be found. The excursion passes through the SIC station of calcicolous mosses in Comba Seviana and Comba Barmarossa. In June, a guided tour is offered on Montagna dei Tigli in Pradleves to discover wild alpine orchids. Protected flora and the cave environment represent two distinct natural highlights.

The parish of San Ponzio was founded in 1610 after being separated from the parish of San Pietro alla Villa di Monterosso. Barmo Capitani is a structure with distinctly archaic features. Families can take the Un “balcone” sulla valle hiking trail. It is suitable for families with children who are already accustomed to hiking. The two trails therefore appeal to different forms of active day planning, without equating their levels of difficulty.

A Destination on the Sentiero delle Leggende

The Santuario Madonna degli angeli lies on the Sentiero delle Leggende at an altitude of 1,127 metres above sea level. Together with the forests, meadows, chapels, caves and artistic installations along this trail, it offers a particularly vivid view of the connection between the landscape and local stories. Pradleves can therefore be explored through outdoor activities as well as nature observation, craftsmanship, history and memory.
