Mandriola between Beach and Coastal Landscape

Mandriola Beach is located on the Sinis Peninsula in the San Vero Milis area. This places a clearly defined coastal landscape at the center: the beach is small and lies between two low cliffs. Along this stretch, Mandriola appears as a compact coastal area with distinctive natural boundaries.

The shoreline combines medium-grained white sand with pebbles. The sea at the beach is crystal-clear and blue-green; along the shore, the seabed is sandy and shallow. The beach is also generally sheltered from the winds. Those who pay attention to specific landscape features during their stay will find a combination of bright coastline, rocky boundaries and shallow seabed here.

Mandriola Beach is used for scuba diving. For maritime activities, the view extends beyond the shore: Naturavventura offers day trips by sailboat to the island of Mal di Ventre. Naturavventura is located in Mandriola (San Vero Milis), at Via S'arrodelli 67. This makes it possible to consider the beach, an interest in diving and a longer excursion on the water as different focuses of the same trip.

Experience the Coast and Choose Your Routes

The surrounding area can also be explored on foot along specific routes. The circular route Giro ad anello di Capo Mannu begins in Mandriola, leads via Capo Mannu, Sa Mesa Longa Beach and the Su Pallosu promontory, and returns to Mandriola. The return to the starting point is therefore part of the route described. A coastal excursion organized by the CAI leads via the Faro di Capo Mannu and the Torre sa Mora to Mandriola.

Torre Sa Mora: History by the Sea

The Torre Sa Mora is a historic coastal tower. It was built to monitor the salt pans of Oristano and defend the landing place of Cala Saline, also known as Porto Mandriola. Porto Mandriola is the former name of Cala Saline. The tower is connected with this stretch of coast and its historic defensive function.

For orientation on site, it is important to distinguish between the foot of the tower and the tower itself. The foot of the Torre Sa Mora can be reached from Mandriola via the road toward Capo Mannu and then along an unpaved road. Access to the Torre Sa Mora is not possible because of its advanced deterioration and its location near the sea cliff. The route to the foot therefore does not indicate that the structure itself is accessible.

Points of Interest in the Coastal Area

Two other points of interest are located in Putzu Idu (San Vero Milis): MET – Asd Mesu' is situated on Lungomare Putzu Idu–Mandriola; Sea Sport & Life is also located on Lungomare Putzu Idu–Mandriola. Lungomare Putzu Idu–Mandriola is therefore another reference point in the surrounding area.
