Uras at the Foot of Monte Arci
Uras lies at the foot of Monte Arci, on a plain crossed by several streams. Parts of the plain are used for agriculture, while others are covered by Mediterranean maquis. Maquis refers to a Mediterranean vegetation form consisting of shrubs and low trees on the plain of Uras.
At Roja Cannas, at the foot of Monte Arci, the largest of the obsidian deposits active during the Neolithic period was identified. For those interested in culture, Roja Cannas is a specific point of reference at the foot of Monte Arci.

Archaeological Traces in and around Uras
When entering Uras via the southern exit of the SS 131, Nuraghe Bentu 'e Crobis is immediately visible. It is regarded as the starting point for visiting the surrounding sites. Uras also has the Su Cugiau de Linnas archaeological and natural history trail.
Sa Domu Beccia
From the built-up area of Uras, follow the S.S. 131 south; after about 800 metres, the Sa Domu Beccia complex is on the right-hand side. The complex has a large main tower built of basalt. It is surrounded by a triangular defensive wall with two additional towers, as well as by a second outer wall fitted with towers. The site particularly appeals to visitors who wish to view architecture as an interplay of several defensive elements.

Sa Coxina Antiga and Local Food Culture
Local food culture is also represented by its own festival: Sa Coxina Antiga is dedicated to rediscovering grain cultivation and aspects of rural life in the past. At Sa Coxina Antiga, women and men from the Pro Loco of Uras present Malloreddus made entirely by hand from semolina of the Capelli wheat variety and water. This directly connects ingredients, manual work and former ways of life.
Historical Event
The historical event “Sa Cursa de Su Pannu” included a procession in medieval costumes through Uras to the Church of San Salvatore, as well as a horse race.
The Route to Monte Arci
From Uras, the route to Monte Arci leads via the turn-off from Strada Statale 131 south of Oristano. The route then continues along the 442 through Morgongiori towards Is Benas and the forestry workers’ base.
