For those interested in culture, Bezzecca offers several specific historical points of interest: the museum in the heart of the village, the marble cross on Colle di Santo Stefano, the Chiesetta di Santo Stefano and the Galleria Lamarmora, which served as a storage facility and depot during the war.

Walking Trails and Views of Lake Ledro

An easy walking trail leads from Bezzecca through the Val dei Molini to the Belvedere di Bezzecca. This belvedere is a natural viewing terrace overlooking Lake Ledro. From there, the view extends across the Bezzecca plain, the lake and the mountains of the Ledro Valley, particularly as far as Monte Corno. Another relaxing walking option follows the Rio Sacher in the shade of the trees. One trail runs through the Val dei Molini, the other along the Rio Sacher; together, both complement the historical sites with scenic impressions of Lake Ledro.

Garibaldi and the History of the Village

The Museo Garibaldino e della Grande Guerra in the heart of Bezzecca tells of the passage of Garibaldi’s Redshirts under his command. The museum also associates Bezzecca with Garibaldi’s famous exclamation “Obbedisco!”, which he uttered here. On Colle di Santo Stefano, a large white marble cross commemorates those who fell in the Battle of Bezzecca in 1866. The Chiesetta di Santo Stefano houses a monument to the Unknown Soldier.

Colle di Santo Stefano is a place of history and remembrance. It represents the Third Italian War of Independence as well as the First World War. The Galleria Lamarmora is also one of the historic sites: during the war, it served as a storage facility and depot. The Mulino dei “Blec” extends over three floors of approximately 40 m² each; it contains equipment from the early 20th century that enabled the entire milling process.
