Padergnone is an old village with glacially shaped morphology, gathered in a hollow oriented towards the Lake District. At the same time, it is one of the last remaining places in the Sarca Valley where olives grow thanks to the climate tempered by the Ora del Garda. This combination of landscape, wine tradition and historical traces shapes the exploration of the area.

Vino Santo and Paths through Padergnone

A special point of interest is the Casa Caveau Vino Santo, a new interactive space for Vino Santo DOC in the former drying house of Padergnone. The route there involves a short walk from the car park of Parco del Lago di Santa Massenza to Piazzetta del Mercato, where Casa Caveau Vino Santo is located. Along this route, seven educational stations explain the history of the development of Vino Santo. The Vino Santo Trail connects Casa Caveau Vino Santo with Parco del Lago di Santa Massenza. Padergnone was also a centre for the production of Vino Santo and is considered the birthplace of Trentino's nursery horticulture.

Circular Routes for Hiking and Cycling

For an active tour of the village, the Anello Vezzano–Fraveggio–Padergnone is a good option. The 8.6-kilometre circular route passes through Padergnone and is considered suitable for hiking or mountain biking. Also connected with the wine landscape is the Sentiero della Nosiola, where the wine becomes Santo. It includes Sottovi di Padergnone and is considered a four-stage circular route; the individually stated or total length varies between 5 and 20 kilometres. The Ciclabile dei Laghi connects Padergnone with Lago di Terlago over a distance of approximately 10 kilometres. It is suitable for all types of bicycles because it is well paved and maintained. The regional bus route 205 provides a connection with other places in Garda Trentino along the Riva–Sarche–Trento route.

Church, Mills and Local History

The Anello Vezzano–Fraveggio–Padergnone circular route leads in the village to the old Santi Filippo e Giacomo Church and the war memorial. The parish church of Santi Filippo e Giacomo has a Renaissance structure with Baroque alterations. In this way, religious architecture and a historic memorial site complement each other along the route.

The history of the mills is also part of the village landscape. The Mòlin dei Pradi was a mill for grinding grain and polishing barley; its operation is documented in the 17th and 18th centuries, before the mill ceased operating in the 1920s. At Mólin dela Gióana, displayed millstones along the route of the old mills recall its former use. A mill built by the Miori in 1901 had a modern roller mill and a bakery workshop.
