Discover Pera: Churches, Trails and Peaks in the Surrounding Area
Accommodation in Pera
Pera between culture, outdoor activities and regional production
Pera appeals to travelers who want to get to know a place through its culture, outdoor activities and regional production. The neighboring Mèlga de Fascia dairy offers a concrete insight: it processes milk every day from around thirty barns between Soraga and Canazei, and the modern production facilities can be viewed through large windows. In addition, the highlights range from religious buildings and a mill to a hiking trail, winter sports, mountain peaks and historical destinations. The combination of local attractions and the surrounding excursion area allows you to plan your days around a variety of interests.
Churches and mill in Pera
The Chiesa di San Lorenzo was built around 1610 in late Gothic forms. Its interior contains numerous frescoes by F. Bernard, as well as a high altar featuring a depiction of Saint Lawrence, the patron saint of Pera. The newer Chiesa di Santa Maria Madre della Chiesa in Pera was designed by the architect G. Marchegiani and the engineer P. Mayr; the first service was held there on Christmas Day 1975. The L Molin de Pèzol mill has belonged to the Rizzi (Salin) family from Pera since 1800, is well preserved and is still in operation.
Trails and winter sports
The Pera–Monzon–La Regolina hiking trail begins in Pera at Strada de Ciadenac and follows the Way of the Cross toward Monzon. In the village of Fraine-Pera di Fassa, there is a practice area with numerous games and a cross-country ski trail that is also illuminated in the evenings. The Fly Line Catinaccio is a 1,100-meter-long flight through the forest near Ciampedie, with an elevation difference of 190 meters. A self-braking car, a safety harness and an individual seat enable a controlled ride. From Pera, the Fly Line Catinaccio can be reached by the Vajolet 1, Vajolet 2 and Pian Pecei chairlifts.
The various options can be arranged according to your preferred daily rhythm: A stay can begin with architecture and the mill, continue along the hiking trail toward Monzon, or focus on sporting destinations and regional production. When choosing a hotel in Pera, it is therefore particularly important whether you want to place greater emphasis on the village itself or on destinations in the immediate and wider surrounding area.
